Apple HomePod 2 should arrive ‘fairly quickly’

1 min read

Next Apple HomePod launching soon

Apple HomePod 2 is expected to be released soon. This would be the first smart speakers from the company in 2020.

Mark Gurman, the always reliable Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, has tweeted that the Siri speaker will be released “fairly soon”.

  • How to start using Apple Home

HomePod 2 is not yet known, but Gurman stated previously that it would have a lower price point, the S8 processor found in Apple’s smartwatches as well as an updated touchscreen control panel at the top.

The Apple HomePod, which was discontinued in March 2021 as well, would also fill in a gap in Apple’s smart home setup, alongside the HomePod Mini.

Apple, along with all of the other tech giants, is also involved in the Matter standard, which began rolling out to -certified devices late in 2022. A HomePod launch in Q1 2023 makes perfect sense.

Apple unveiled the first HomePod at WWDC 2017 but Gurman’s report would suggest that the announcement will be made before June. Perhaps, then, it could come as part of Apple’s usual March event.

As always, we will be here to give you any updates.
