You can enter your MAC address if you want to add the Echo device to a approved devices list. Two optional settings are available. The first is to store your Wi-Fi Password with Amazon. Then, the next time you want to set up a new Echo device, Amazon will already have your Wi-Fi password.

You can connect your Echo with a public WiFI network. If you are installing one in a classroom or a hotel, you can input any information in a pop-up window. You’ll see this option pop-up as you proceed through the WiFI setup. However, this information cannot be saved.
